The Bird and the Elephant

“Why would they put a bird and an elephant together?”

“To learn from each other.  The bird can explore the world and come back to tell the elephant about it.  The elephant can tell the bird what it’s like to be the biggest thing in the jungle.”

“Okay.”

“What are you talking about anyhow?”

“Big Bird and Snuffleupagus.”

“Oh, please! Big Bird is an idiot!  He’s a giant, stupid bird who can’t even fly.  A useless fool!  I take back everything I said.”

“He’s not an idiot.  He can count!”

“I don’t care if he can count.  He’s just a big stupid oaf of a bird whose only possible value is dinner.”

“He’s special!  He’s extra big so he can protect himself.  He’s not an oaf, he’s a special giant yellow bird!”

“He’s not special.  He’s just fat.”
